About the Artist
From Virginia, I received a BA from VA Tech and as a career I worked for the Department of the Army at Fort Lee Virginia as an Illustrator and Visual information Specialist.
I began working in the batik medium after discovering the joy it brings to me when I work in fabric, dyes and hot wax as a resist. The batiks take a life of their own after immersing the wax covered fabric into the dye bath.
I have always had horses on my horizon and now in my life. Painting my own horses is as good as it gets for me and the joy of every day routine with them has me wanting to capture all my moments with Petey and Cooper.
I teach Batik workshops and have enjoyed hosting one at Art @319 in Smithfield VA and I teach at the Petersburg Art League at least one workshop per year.
