About the Artist

Every horse is an individual with features and a personality unique to itself. My artwork is rendered with this in mind. My approach to creating art is focused on capturing the life of a subject, either through a twinkle in the eye or the gesture of a pose. I love the challenge of capturing the essence of my subject and seeing an image come to life.

In respect to my equine background, I have a life long love of horses. I’ve been drawing them since I could hold a pencil and have owned and ridden for a time as well. My formal art education came from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Illustration. Post graduation, I have worked as a graphic artist in Washington, DC for several years and have done free lance commissions of peoples’ pets on the side.

Currently, I live in Nokesville with my family, nine chickens, and two cats. I enjoy not only creating equine art but also, canine, feline, and most any barnyard critter that is special to its humans. I hope you will visit my website and look forward to hearing from you.
