About the Artist

Loudoun County based, Cathy Choyce is primarily a self-taught artist whose expertise from years of training horses and breeding dogs, translates into her paintings and sculptures. Her work is noted for its realism, attention to detail and emotional impact. Seeking to refine her skills, Cathy has participated in several American Academy of Equine Art workshops, studying with noted artists Kathleen Freidenberg, Karen Kasper and Barbara Oelke.

She has won numerous awards at the Draft Horse Classic Art Show and her Connemara sculpture was featured on the cover of The American Connemara magazine. Cathy is a member of the Virginia Equine Artists Association and The Canine Art Guild. Her artistic goal is to capture equine and canine images with vivid emotion and expression. She is an avid beagler and loves to spend time rabbit hunting with her two Beagles when she isn't working on her art.
